Adding a Live Poll Results web view to a PowerPoint Presentation

The article explains how to add the Live Poll Results web view to a PowerPoint presentation using the Web Viewer add-in.

Installing the Web Viewer Add-in to PowerPoint

From the menu ribbon at the top of the PowerPoint window, the PowerPoint user selects Insert.

From the menu, the PowerPoint user selects Get Add-ins.

A pop-up window of the Office Add-ins Store opens.

In the Office Add-ins Store, search for Web Viewer.

The PowerPoint user clicks Add.

When prompted, the PowerPoint user clicks I agree to all the above terms and conditions.

The PowerPoint user clicks Continue.

The Web Viewer module is inserted on the slide.

The PowerPoint user enters the Projection View URL of the poll whose results will be displayed.

Inserting Live Poll Results in Web Viewer in a PowerPoint Presentation

To obtain the Projection View URL, the PowerPoint user goes to the poll moderation console for the selected live poll, then selects Supplemental Views > Projection View.

The PowerPoint user copies the Projection View URL from the web browser's address bar.

The PowerPoint user pastes the Projection View URL into the Web Viewer module in PowerPoint, then clicks Preview.

Note: The Web Viewer already includes 'https://' by default.

The PowerPoint user does not include the 'https://' prefix in front of the URL pasted into the Web Viewer, or the page will not display properly.

After clicking Preview, a live view of the web page URL will appear.

The page is responsive and will update with changes that are made in the poll moderation console, such as displaying a question or displaying results.
