Adding Questions to a Form

Adding Questions to a Form

A lot of the information collected in Events will be from Custom Questions created on the Account level (Custom Profile Questions) and within the Event (Custom Registration Questions).

Questions can be added to a registration form in 3 different ways. Custom Profile Questions can be added to the Registrant Details section. A Question Section can be created and added to the Form. A logic rule can be created that displays the questions based on a logic condition.

Registrant Details

The Registrant Details Section is where Profile information is displayed and collected. The Registrant Details Section includes Name, Email, Address, and other Profile information. Custom Registration Questions cannot be added to the Reg Details area. Custom Profile Fields can be added.

1. Navigate to the Form's > Registrant Details section. 2. Under Select Fields. 3. Move the questions to include in the Registrant Section from the Available Fields section to the Fields to Display section. 4. Save.

This will include the Custom Questions selected in the Registrant Details section of the Form.

Question Section

The Form's > Questions page is where Question sections can be created to place on a form. Question sections can contain Custom Registration Questions, Custom Profile Questions, and Display Headers. Conditions can be set on Question sections. A Question section will only display if the registrant meets the conditions.

1. Navigate to the Form's > Questions page. 2. Click on Add New or edit an existing Question Section. 3. Enter a Name for the Question Section. 4. Choose Additional Questions to show in the Section. 5. Set a Display Condition if needed. 6. Navigate to the Form's > Setup > Scroll to Page Layout. 7. Select the Question section created in the Available Sections area. 8. Click on the Icon to move the section to the Online Form Sequence. 9. Move the Section up or down to place it where it should show on the form. 10. Save.

This will cause the questions to display on the Form where the section is placed in the Page Layout. This will only happen if the Display Conditions are met.

Logic Rule

Questions can be displayed on a form by placing questions in a logic rule. There are two actions used to display questions. The action names are Display Questions or Agenda Items, and Display Questions.

The Display Questions or Agenda Items Action checks the Logic conditions set on the page loading. If the Logic conditions are True, the action displays the questions or items selected in the Logic Rule.

The Display Questions Action checks the Logic conditions set as the registrant makes selections on the page. This action will cause the question to appear or be hidden based on whether the Conditions are True or False.

1. Navigate to the Form's > Logic page. 2. Click on Add New. 3. Enter a Name for the Logic rule and set the Logic's Section. 4. Set the Action to "Display Questions" or "Display Questions or Agenda Items". 5. Select the question or questions to display. 6. Set the Conditions of the Logic Rule. 7. Save. 8. Navigate to the Form's > Setup > Scroll to Page Layout. 9. Select the Logic Section to which the Logic Rule was added in the Available Sections area. 10. Click on the Icon to move the section to the Online Form Sequence. 11. Move the Section up or down to place it where it should show on the form. 12. Save.

This will cause the Questions selected in the Logic Rule to display on the Form. The display depends on whether the Conditions set are True or False.
