Agenda Items: Advanced (Custom Questions)

Overview

Agenda Items: Advanced (Custom Questions) is a legacy feature used prior to the development of the Forms > Agenda section. Best Practice is to consult with Customer Support before using this feature. To gather more information than is possible via the options on an Agenda Section, a custom question can be assigned to the agenda item. For example, a registrant who selects Yes for a tour might be asked to enter the number of tickets requested. Agenda items and their custom questions are displayed to a registrant in the Agenda Section of a registration form. However, the use of this method is not recommended; instead, use a separate Questions section or a logic rule.

Display formats and options

By default, an agenda item is displayed as a pre-designed Ticket-type question/answer format. In addition to a Ticket-type custom question, a custom question/answer can be displayed as a radio button, a check box, a select, a select multiple, or an integer. Answer option values must be numeric values greater than zero: 1, 2, 3, etc. Any answer option that is not a numeric value will not be saved and the data will be lost.

Constraints and cautions

Caution: A custom question cannot be removed from an agenda item. To replace a custom question, delete the agenda item itself and add a new agenda item. Warning: Do not use the Sel? and Web? options for answers to Agenda Item Questions. These options can remove Agenda Items from a registration. The Answer Value is directly linked to the Quantity of the agenda item; setting an agenda item question to have an answer value with Sel? or Web? selected will cause those values to be removed from an existing registration when the registrant goes through the form.

Custom Question for This Agenda Item

When editing an agenda item and clicking the Advanced button (on the toolbar at the lower left), the pop-up Agenda page shows the name of the selected agenda item under the title bar. If no custom question is assigned to the agenda item, the view shows: Assign a question to this agenda item. Click this link to display the Questions page. Configure the custom question, and Save. If a custom question is assigned to the item, the view shows the question and the registrant's view of it. To change or reconfigure the question (such as changing the minimum or maximum number of tickets), click the icon representing the question type. The Questions page opens, showing the details configured before. Edit as necessary, and Save.
