Bulk Uploading Content

Bulk Uploading Content

While you may enter any and all information through the online dashboard, you may also wish to bulk upload content into the Touchpoint system. A single Microsoft Excel spreadsheet example contains all formats and is downloadable at the bottom of this article.

Things to Note

Separate spreadsheets

Save resources (agenda, exhibitors, speakers, etc.) as separate spreadsheets. For simplicity, the example spreadsheet includes multiple resources, but uploads will be performed one resource at a time.

Spreadsheet data begins top left

Spreadsheet data should begin in the first column and the first row. There should be no cells above or to the left of the spreadsheet data.

Match spreadsheet headings exactly

Be sure to use Touchpoint terminology for all spreadsheet uploads. Refer to the example spreadsheet attached at the bottom of this article, and copy and paste headings to ensure the exact same heading labels are used. For example, use the heading of "Name" and not "Session Name" for the column containing session titles.

Delete, not hide

For columns containing data you will not be using, please delete the column. Do not hide it. Hiding the column may cause unintended data to be imported or uploads to fail. Hidden columns can create headaches when importing, so pare your spreadsheet down to include only information you need.

Remove any extra cells

After you feel you've got all of your data entered into your spreadsheet, do a final review. Scroll to the right to make sure there is no unnecessary data past what should be your last column. Scroll to the bottom as well and make sure there is no unintended information entered in a row below the scope of your spreadsheet.

Match spreadsheet headings exactly

Be sure you are using Touchpoint's terminology for all of your spreadsheet uploads. Refer to the example spreadsheet (attached at the bottom of this article), and copy and paste headings to ensure you are using the exact same heading labels. For example, use the heading of "Name" and not "Session Name" for the column containing session titles.

Importing Content

Content can be imported from two places on the Event Dashboard:

Resource types include:

If necessary, confirm the destination for the imported content selected on the Feature dropdown menu. For example, if there are multiple Showcase buttons and Exhibitor bulk upload is used, indicate which Show case button the content should go to.

After initiating the import
