The following article provides suggestions and guidance for selecting on-site badge printers.
iOS
iOS devices require AirPrint-certified printers.

Note: Unlike Android, no additional work is needed to custom-fit any printer not found on the list above.
Android
Google Cloud Print is no longer supported by Android devices.
Compatibility depends on the printer owned and on how the printer works with Android devices.
Android devices should not be used for check-in with on-demand badges unless the printer has been tested and proven to work with Android devices.
Network Issues
When the printer cannot be seen by the device, the issue may be the type of network to which the devices are connected.
When using WiFi with badge printers, the network must have connected devices to be Discoverable by turning AP Isolation off.
This is sometimes called Client or Wireless Isolation.
Many hotels or areas with WiFi enable AP Isolation by default, preventing devices from seeing other devices.
When setting up a connection at a venue, inform venue administrators that this setting should be turned off for the network to allow devices to see each other.
Some customers use their own WiFi Router on-site.
Connect the router to the venue's internet and have devices connect to the router to control the WiFi settings.
While this adds another layer of complexity, it ensures you have the correct type of network in locations that cannot provide it.
