To add conditional logic to a Speaker Portal page, you control the flow of the content the speaker selects.
You specify one or more rules.
You specify the fields to be displayed if the conditions are met.
Steps
1. Edit the page by clicking for that page on Speaker Portal > Pages.
2. Hover over the spot where you want to add logic.
3. Click the + Add button.
4. Click Add a Conditional Section.
5. Edit the fields in the new section:
- Section Name – default "Additional Config"
- Field – Select the field to compare, e.g. Speaker Organization
- Operator – Select how to compare the Field with the Value, e.g. "Contains"
- Value – Enter or select the subject of the comparison
6. For more complex rules, click Add Another Qualifier.
7. Another row is added to the list.
8. Edit the Field, Value and Operator for that row.
9. You can repeat this step to add another row.
10. Choose how the comparison should deal with multiple values entered in the previous step:
- All of these values (The rule is met only if comparison is true for all values)
- Any of these values (The rule is met if comparison is true for one or more values)
11. Select the Field layout to display.
12. This is just like adding any other fields to a page.
13. You can include standard and custom session fields, section divider, and rich text HTML;
14. You can even include another conditional section – one nested within the other.
15. (And you can have up to three levels of nested sections if you really want to push the envelope.)
16. The result is displayed only if the conditions are met.
Example
You might ask potential speakers whether they have presented at a previous event.
If they select 'Yes', you could prompt them with follow-up questions about the event, organization, and number of attendees.
