Conditional Logic (in Speaker Portal)
Conditional Logic is a feature that shows or hides content based on specified rules. Conditional logic controls the flow of content shown to speakers in the Speaker Portal.
Steps
- Edit the page by clicking the pencil icon for that page on Speaker Portal > Pages.
- Hover over the spot where you want to add logic.
- Click the + Add button.
- Click Add a Conditional Section.
- Section Name is the default value "Additional Config."
- The Field to compare can be selected, for example "Speaker Organization."
- The Operator controls how the Field is compared with the Value, for example "Contains."
- The Value is the subject of the comparison and can be entered or selected.
- For more complex rules, click Add Another Qualifier.
- Another row is added to the list.
- Edit the Field, Value and Operator for that row.
- You can repeat this step to add another row.
- The comparison can handle multiple values entered in the previous step by using either All of these values or Any of these values.
- All of these values means the rule is met only if the comparison is true for all values.
- Any of these values means the rule is met if the comparison is true for one or more values.
- Select the Field layout to display.
- The Field layout is the same as adding any other fields to a page.
- The page can include standard and custom session fields, a section divider, and rich text HTML.
- An additional conditional section can be included, nested within another section.
- Up to three levels of nested sections can be used.
- The result displays only if the conditions are met.
Field layout and nesting
- The result will appear only when the configured conditions are met.
- The page can include standard session fields, custom session fields, a section divider, and rich text HTML.
- It is possible to include another conditional section, nested within the first.
Example
You might ask potential speakers whether they have presented at a previous event. If the speaker selects Yes, follow-up questions about the event, organization, and number of attendees may be prompted.
