Custom Statuses

Event > Plan > Event Setup > Custom Statuses

This page lists the custom registration statuses defined for the event. This may be a multi-page list. Click one to see/edit its details, or click Add New to add a new one. Either action opens the Registration Status Details section described below.

The registration status tracks the progress of a single registration through the registration process. An event can have any number of custom registration statuses in addition to the 11 standard statuses. See the details below for each custom registration status.

Standard Statuses

The 11 standard (default) registration statuses are listed below.

But note: if the account has the Show Default Statuses option cleared on Account Settings > Implementation > Security, then none of these default statuses are available for use in events – only the custom statuses you set up here would be available for use on forms, for assigning directly to registrations, etc.

Status table

| Status | Classification |

|---|---|

| New | Accepted |

| Requested Invitation | Pending |

| Waitlist Hold | Pending |

| Invited | Pending |

| Request Denied | Denied |

| Invitation Sent | Pending |

| Pre-Registered | Accepted |

| Declined Invitation | Denied |

| Cancelled | Cancelled |

| No-show | Accepted* |

| Attended | Accepted |

Note: The "No-show" status is classified as "Accepted". Any resulting agenda item fees, for example, are not canceled unless explicitly canceled for a registrant, or the planner executes a cancellation mass action.

Custom Registration Statuses

Custom registration statuses enable you to develop a registration process that meets your specific needs. For example, a series of status levels for speakers might be:

When a speaker registers online, you can set the system (in Form > Setup > Assign Reg Status) to assign the status of Speaker registrations to "Need photo and abstract". When that registrant later sends in her photo, then you change her status to "Need Abstract". And once she sends in her Abstract, then you change her status to "Pre-registered".

Doing this, you can use the standard report "All Registrations By Status" on the Event Dashboard to instantly track how many speakers have registered and how many still need to provide you with materials. You can then select these groups of attendees and send them email reminder messages with 2 more clicks.

Registration Status Details

When adding a new status, or editing an existing one, complete the following fields.

Note: A sort order less than 100 means the status appears above the standard registration statuses; a sort order greater than 110 means the status appears below the standard ones.

Note: The field is not shown if not such tags have been set up.

For example, for digital events you may assign a 'Registered' tag for use in triggering flows in Certain Digital. See Digital Events: Overview.

Technical Note: All tags are exposed via Certain's API 2.0. The APIs associated with the objects will return the associated tags if you include an includeList=tags attribute.

Note about Standard Reg Statuses: An administrator can apply tags to any of the standard registration statuses listed above. See Account Settings > Management > Registration Statuses.
