Scope and Audience
Scope: This article explains how to delete or delink webinars from an Event or from Sessions in the Certain platform.
Audience: This article is for event organizers and administrators who manage webinars in the Certain platform.
Delete vs. Delink
Delete
Delete is the action that removes the Webinar from the Event or Session. Delete also removes the Webinar from the third-party system when using a native Signal integration (Zoom, On24, etc.).
Delink
Delink is the action that removes the Webinar only from the Event or Session.
Special case: custom Signal integration
When using a custom Signal integration for Webinars, the only allowed action is Delink.
Linking to another Event or Session
If the Webinar is linked to the wrong Event or Session and needs to be connected to another Event or Session, Delink can be used.
Complete removal
If the user wants to remove the Webinar completely, the Delete option can be used.
How to Delete/Delink a Webinar
For Event Webinars
Event Webinars can be deleted or delinked from the Event. To perform the action, navigate to the Event's Plan. Open Event Setup. Open Details. Open Event Webinar. Click the option to Delete or Delink the Webinar. Confirm the action.
For Webinars linked to individual Sessions
Webinars linked to Sessions can be deleted or delinked from the Session. To perform the action, navigate to Manage. Open Speakers And Sessions. Open Sessions. Open Instances. Click the link icon for your Session. Select Delete or Delink. Confirm your Action.
Important considerations
Deleting or Delinking a Webinar is a setup option during event creation. However, once an event is live and registrations exist, deletion or delinking should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. Deleting or Delinking a Webinar with active registrations could leave registrants without a working JoinURL or without an active registration to any new Webinars added later. If deletion or delinking occurs for a Live Event with Sessions, then create and run a Signal Replay report by using Reports > Add Report > Set Report type to a Reg or Session Signal Replay report type > Run the Report > Select Active Registrations that may have been affected > Process a Mass action to Replay/Retrigger the Signal Flows.
Please Note
Using a custom Signal integration for Webinars restricts actions to Delink only.
