Using an Event Template in Touchpoint can speed up the process when creating a new event. If the same color theming, homescreen layout design, and/or feature settings are needed for multiple events, an event template can be created with those settings. Each new event can then apply the template instead of manually setting up those options.
Multiple templates can be created for different events. There is no limit to the number of templates an account can hold.
If a new event template needs to be created in Touchpoint, a note can be sent using HERE. The Touchpoint support team will create the new event template(s) and notify the user when the templates have been added to the account. All event templates are listed on the left side of the account Organization Homepage under Templates. A template can be clicked to edit it.
What to include in an Event Template
Editing an Event Template is the same as editing an event. The following content is applied to an event when an Event Template is applied:
- Color Theming settings
- Phone Home Layout (including images)
- iPad Home Layout (including images)
- Feature Menu Button selections (including customized button labels)
- Feature Settings
- Credit Types (on My Credits feature)
> Please note: If changes have already been made to the content on an event listed above, applying an Event Template overwrites that content on the event. This overwrite cannot be undone.
Applying a Template to an Event
1. From the event’s dashboard homepage, click the Edit button in the upper right corner of the screen to the right of the event title. 2. Select the template from the Apply Template dropdown menu. 3. Click Save Gathering. The Phone Home Layout of the chosen Template appears in the Home Layout preview on the event dashboard homepage.
What does not get applied with an Event Template?
The following content is NOT applied to an event when an Event Template is applied:
- Agenda Sessions
- Attendees
- Speakers
- Showcase Items
- Info Items
- Links
- New Stories
- Surveys
- Live Polls
- To Do Tasks
- Videos
- Activity Feed posts
- Twitter Feeds
The content above is NOT applied to an event when an Event Template is applied because the content is assumed to differ from one event to another.
