General FAQ - Importing Registration Data

This article explains how to create registrations from existing data.

Registrations can be created from existing data via multiple methods.

Four methods are supported for importing registrations into an event.

Import Data Into the Registrations Database

There are four ways to import registrations into your event.

The four methods are: importing from an external data file, Salesforce, Eloqua, and Marketo.

On the Event Dashboard (Manage > Registrations), the Import button enables the planner to upload an external data file to the server. On the Event Dashboard (Manage > Registrations), the Import button enables mapping the columns of the data file to the registrations database. On the Event Dashboard (Manage > Registrations), the Import button enables previewing the data upload. Details are provided in How to import external data into the registrations database (details).

Import Salesforce Members If your organization uses Salesforce, you can import Salesforce members as registrations in your event. See Manage > Registrations > Import Salesforce members for details.

Import Eloqua Contacts If your organization uses Eloqua for marketing automation, you can import Eloqua contacts as registrations. This requires an administrator to set up an Eloqua plugin for your account. See details of running the Import Eloqua Contacts as registrations job in Configure > Connectors.

Import Marketo Leads If your organization uses Marketo for marketing automation, you can import Marketo leads as registrations. Create Registrations from a Group of Profiles The planner can also create registrations for an event from the profiles database of that event's account. This is done by selecting a group of profiles (using Profiles > QuickSearch), then clicking Create Registrations. This button then enables the planner to assign the event, attendee type, and registration status for the profile records being imported. Enable Attendees to Use their Profile Record to Create a New Registration for Themselves If individuals are invited from the profile database to register for an event, they can use their profile username and password to access their profile information and create a registration for themselves via an online registration form.
