Getting Started with Express

What this article covers: a quick tour of Certain Express and the four areas it's built from — Accounts, Events, Profiles, and Brand Kit. By the end, you'll know your way around well enough to start building a live, branded event.

Welcome to Express

Express is where you build your event page, collect registrations, and see who's coming, all in one place.

This guide walks you through the basics, so you always know where to find things.

Your dashboard

Every time you open Express, you land here first.

This home base shows what's happening across your account right now.

Across the top sits Express Architect.

Describe your event in plain language, and Express Architect builds the whole thing for you.

Below it, four cards answer the questions you'd otherwise go hunting for.

Accounts

Click Accounts on the rail at the left.

Everything in Express lives in one of four areas, and the rail is how you reach them.

Accounts comes first.

If you run events for more than one team, brand, or region, each one is its own account.

This is where you switch between accounts.

The panel next to the rail lists every account you can reach.

A filter box appears up top if you have a lot of accounts.

Your current account always shows at the top of the screen.

You can check where you are at a glance.

Events

Click Events on the rail.

Events is the second area.

Events is where you'll spend most of your time.

The panel lists your events, grouped into In Progress and Upcoming.

Each card shows the event name, its date, how many people have registered, and the capacity you set.

A green LIVE badge means that event is open and taking registrations right now.

Click any event, and it opens on the right.

The event page includes its registration form, its emails, its attendee list, and its reports.

Profiles

Click Profiles on the rail.

Profiles is your audience across your whole account.

Profiles is not just one event.

When someone registers for any of your events, they show up in Profiles automatically.

The Profiles list builds itself over time.

Come to Profiles to see who you've reached before.

Profiles also lets you invite a group of those people to something new.

Brand Kit

Click Brand Kit on the rail.

Brand Kit is the fourth area.

Brand Kit holds your colours, logos, and fonts.

You can keep more than one kit.

A different brand or region can have its own Brand Kit.

Set up Brand Kit once.

Every new event picks up Brand Kit automatically.

This setup makes registration pages and emails look like they came from you, not a generic template.

The whole picture

The whole product includes Accounts, Events, Profiles, and Brand Kit.

The rail never changes.

Accounts, Events, Profiles, and Brand Kit stay one click away wherever you are.

The pattern repeats everywhere in Express.

Pick an area on the rail.

Pick an item in the list beside the area.

Work on the item in the large area to the right.

Over the next few guides, you set up your brand.

You build your first event.

You check your registration form and confirmation email.

You open the event for registrations.

You pull your attendee list.

Watch those steps in order the first time through.

Where to go next

You have two places to go from here.

Express has a Learn area built in.

You can open Learn from your initials at the bottom of the rail.

This guide, along with the rest of the Express guides, lives in Support Articles.
