Industries (at account-level)

Industries at the account level are managed by administrators. These industries are used as the "target" industries for sessions in Speaker and Session Management, which must be enabled for the account. Event planners can select the industries to be available in an event, and then associate those industries with sessions.

Add Industry

To add an industry to the account, enter a new Industry Name in the Name text box, and click Add.
The Industry Name must be unique in the account.
The industry is added to the Industry List below.

Import Industries

Import industries from a CSV file that you have prepared in advance.

Notes:

Format: The import file must be a CSV file.
Fields: It must include the one (required) field: Industry Name.
Template: You can right-click this file to save an empty template CSV file: jndustries_import_template.csv.
Header Row: The first row must be column names. You will use these when mapping the fields.

Steps to follow to import industries

Once you have a CSV file ready:

1. Click Import Industries.

2. Click Browse and select the CSV file to upload from your computer.

3. Click Upload to upload it to the account.

4. In the Import Industries pop-up window, map the Name field to the relevant column in your import file.

5. Click Import to start the import process.

6. You receive an email advising that the import is complete, and if any rows failed to import.

Note: If you import an industry with the same name as an existing record, it will overwrite that record. That has no net effect; it does not generate an error, nor create a duplicate record.

Industry List

All Industries are listed, with these two columns:
Industry Name
To change the name of an industry, click in the Actions column.
Actions: Two icons:
Edit. Change the Industry Name, and click to save your changes. (You can click to cancel unsaved changes.)
Delete. Deletes the industry. (You are prompted to confirm.)
Warning: If you delete an industry, any sessions associated with it lose the association. You may confirm or cancel the deletion.

List Navigation

If the list of industries is longer than the page, use these links (in the lower-right corner) to navigate between pages.
