Congratulations on creating your event’s mobile application with Touchpoint.
Now it’s time to get the word out.
Announce
- Announce that your event has a native app for the iPhone, iPad and Android.
- Also announce that a mobile web version exists for Blackberry, Windows and other devices.
- Highlight the most compelling aspects of your app.
- Network with other attendees.
- View the presentations.
- Play the badge game.
- See your own customized itinerary.
- Participate in live polling.
- Access the full agenda with maps and speaker bios, up-to-the-minute updates and important messages from the conference planner, an attendee list, exhibitor booth locations, and more.
- Provide download and access directions.
- Include the mobile web URL for your event.
- iPhone and iPad users should use the Apple App Store.
- Android users should use the Google Play Store.
- Access the full agenda with maps and speaker bios, up-to-the-minute updates and important messages from the conference planner, an attendee list, exhibitor booth locations and more.
- Communicate Wi‑Fi instructions, if applicable.
- Send a dedicated app announcement email to your attendees.
- Do not bury the app in a general conference email.
- Share the benefits of the app and let attendees know if the aim is to go paperless.
- Send another email the day before the event.
Printed Mailings & Program Guides
- Announce the availability of the event mobile application in any physical mailings that are sent to prospective attendees about the event.
- Also include a paragraph about the mobile app in the printed program guide, if you have one.
Standing placard for your registration table at the event
- At the registration table, include a tabletop display highlighting the iPhone/iPad/Android app terms for the Apple App Store and Google Play Stores and the mobile web URL.
- Hand out a note card upon check in and remind your representatives to mention the mobile app.
Announce the app at the opening session
- Have your speaker state the benefits of the app and show a slide of how to access the app.
Consider having a drawing
- Get your sponsors to donate prizes for drawings/giveaways for such actions as downloading the app, messaging or setting up profiles within the app or filling out an in-app survey.
Be app friendly
- Set up charging stations for mobile devices.
- Conduct a quick demo at the start of the conference to show your attendees the benefits and how to use the app.
- Finally, encourage speakers and key stakeholders to use the app and share the news.
