Sub-Accounts
Sub-Accounts are accounts created within your account or within another sub-account within your account. Sub-Accounts enable you to manage events for client organizations or for other divisions of your company. Sub-Accounts keep event and registration data separate from data in other accounts.

Select a Sub-Account
The 'Select a Sub-Account' section lists direct sub-accounts of the current account. The current account is shown at the beginning of the breadcrumb trail in the upper left corner. The list may be a multi-page list. Click a row to edit the sub-account.
How to Create a Sub-Account
Click Add New to create a new sub-account for the current account.
Account Settings
The 'Account Settings' section is displayed when a new sub-account is added or when an existing sub-account is edited.
Account Code
- Required. Used to uniquely identify each account.
- It is also the name of the directory used to store static files for that account (images, Excel spreadsheets, PDF attachments, etc.).
- The code is used in the profile Username calculation if system-generated Username values are used.
- Must consist of only numbers and letters.
- Caution: Must be unique regardless of case.
- Best Practice: Use the shortest code possible that will uniquely identify the account.
- Since the code must be unique, you may have to try several values before the system accepts the code as valid.
Support Rep
- Required. The user within the current account who will provide front-line customer support for the client account.
Parent Account
- The account directly above the client account.
- In large organizations, the relationship between the account owner and the client account may go several levels deep.
Customer ID Number
- Use parent account value — The default selection.
- Enter new customer ID — This option should be selected if a separate billing agreement for the sub-account is negotiated.
- Enter the Customer ID value provided by Certain in the field added here when this option is selected.
Active
- When a sub-account is created, this check box is left clear by default.
- Select it to enable users to access the account.
Copy Custom Account Data
- Custom Account Data includes Content Blocks and Custom Profile, Event and Display Fields.
- If a lot of sub-accounts are created and standardized data is needed for all of them, this option can speed up and simplify the process of adding a sub-account.
- The accounts from which a user can select are the current account, its sibling accounts (other sub-accounts sharing the same Parent Account), and its sub-accounts.
Account Information
- Contact information for the sub-account's primary contact.
- Certain invoices will be sent to this contact.
