This article covers how to set up and manage Touchpoint Stream, including:
Feature Settings
- If you have purchased Touchpoint Stream you will have several options under Event Design > Features/Menu.
- Allow Session Videos enables or disables video content on sessions for the entire event.
- Allow Video Commenting enables users to comment on session videos.
- Allow Video Rating enables users to rate the video.
New Stream from Agenda
- When editing a session you will find a 'Video' section.
- Select the New Video button.
- In the new video modal give your stream a title, select Live Stream as the video type.
- Click Save changes.
Videos Section
- New Video Settings: You will see your live stream has been automatically selected in the session's video selection drop-down.
- Click Save at the bottom of the session edit screen to save your new live stream to the session.
- Video Selected: New Stream from Videos.
- To create a new live stream from the videos feature click New at the top of the list of videos.
- Give your video a unique name and select Live Stream as the video type.
- Click Save and you now have a new live stream ready to be used.
- Streams can be listed under a videos button or can be assigned to sessions.
Broadcasting the Stream
- Speakers or moderators of a session can broadcast session streams by navigating to them in the VIP portal.
- From the VIP portal, simply select the session to be broadcast.
VIP Portal
- On the session detail page click the Stream button next to your video's name under the Main Video section to launch the ready room in a separate window.
Speaker Ready Room
- The presenter ready room allows for a single speaker or a panel of speakers to broadcast out a live stream.
- As a presenter, you will want to log into this ready room as soon as possible, familiarizing yourself with the options you have within this interface prior to the broadcast date.
- Upon entering, you will need to select and confirm your audio and video devices.
Participants
- This section will allow you to see any presenters or moderators.
- If you are a solo presenter, yours will be the only name in this list.
- Attendees watching the broadcast will not be shown within the speaker ready room.
- Make sure the LIVE button next to your name is in red, showing that you have the ability to make your camera and mic live for broadcast.
- Your camera and mic should be turned on in the top left corner.
Files (slides and presentation materials)
- Use the Files button to upload any powerpoint slides, pdfs, or other materials you wish to display during your presentation.
- Click the Files button and use the modal to upload your files.
- Select any uploaded files you would like to include in your presentation and then click Add to playlist.
Playlist
- The Playlist section allows you to display materials to your audience.
- The Playlist button (1) will hide or display the playlist section (2) in your right side bar.
- Select an item from your playlist to display to the audience.
- If you have selected a multi-page pdf or ppt file you will see the individual slides which you can quickly navigate between using the selected media navigation (3).
- Use the x in the upper right corner (4) to dismiss the playlist item from displaying.
Going Live
- To begin your broadcast you will select the Apps button from the top navigation bar then choose Webcast Stream in the dialog box.
- Select the single webcast in the list, then click the red Go Live button at the bottom.
- Once you click Go Live there will be a 30 second to 1 min delay between that click and the broadcast becoming available to stream viewers.
- You will know you are live when you see the timer in the top bar progressing and a brief 'Live Broadcast Started' message appear.
Camera / View Controls
- Hover over a camera source and select the user icon to bring them full screen at any point.
- As a solo presenter you'll want to do this before live broadcasting.
- Selecting the user icon again will bring you back to the room wide view where you can see any active cameras.
- In a multi-presenter broadcast the moderator will want to familiarize themselves with bringing users full screen and deselecting them to bring the room at large back into view.
