How to Configure Event Registration Tags and Questions

Overview

Greet displays event and attendee information synced from Certain.

The Greet tag controls which event and registration question responses are available in Greet.

This article explains where to apply the Greet tag to support the sync.

Understanding the Greet Tag

The greet tag determines which data is synced from Certain to Greet.

The tag must be applied in three locations: 1. Account level (tag creation) 2. Event level 3. Registration question

Events and registration data that are not tagged are not included in Greet.

Creating the Greet Tag

1. In Certain, select the profile icon in the upper-right corner.

2. Select Account Settings.

3. Under Management, select Tags.

4. In the Add Tag section enter greet as the tag name.

5. Select the object types required for Greet sync (E.g., Event, Registration Questions, Profile Questions).

6. Save tag.

Once created, the tag can now be applied to events and registration questions.

Applying the tag to Events

The greet tag must be assigned to events that should be available in Greet.

Events without the tag will not appear in the Greet Account Dashboard after sync.

Applying the tag to Registration Questions

The greet tag must also be assigned to registration questions whose responses should be available in Greet.

Tagged questions can be used for attendee management — check-in, badge printing, and reporting.

Only tagged registration questions are synced.

Synchronization

After the greet tag has been applied, data is synced from Certain to Greet on a scheduled basis.

All tag management and configuration take place in Certain and no corresponding tag configuration is required in Greet.
