Prerequisites
You must create one or more Discount Code(s) first before importing Promo Codes.
Creating Discount Codes
Prepare an import file in CSV. A sample CSV file is available. The field names should be kept when preparing your own file.
- REQ: Required fields
- Discount name: A descriptive name for the discount (e.g. $10% off, $500 off)
- Discount code: Must be unique to the event. If the Discount Code already exists, the import will update the record.
- Discount type: fixed or percentage
- Discount Amount: A number representing the monetary value of a fixed discount, or the percentage for a percentage discount.
Go to the Promo Code List page under Plan > Promo Codes, and click Import Discounts.
Click Browse, and select the file you prepared. Then click Upload.
Review the mapping fields to confirm they are matched, and click Import.
You will receive an email when the import is successful. The imported Promo Codes will be listed on the Fees & Discount page (Plan > Event Setup > Agenda > Fees & Discounts).
Import Promo Codes
Prepare an import file in CSV. A sample CSV file is available. The field names should be kept when preparing your own file.
- REQ: Required fields
- Promo code: Must be unique to the event
- Attendee Type Code(s): Must be existing attendee type(s). If more than one, separate them with commas
- Discount Code(s): Must already exist in the event. If more than one, separate them with commas. (find the code from Plan > Event Setup > Agenda > Fees & Discounts)
- Capacity: The maximum number that can be used by attendees; an integer from 0 to 999999. (Note: Blank or 0 means unlimited capacity)
- Date Format: mm/dd/yyyy
- Time format: hh:mm AM or PM
Go to the Promo Code List page under Plan > Promo Codes, and click Import Promo Codes. The Event Promo Code Import Wizard will appear.
Click Browse, and select the file you prepared. Then click Upload.
