In your Event, you will be able to create Speakers manually or via import. If any Custom Speaker Fields were created under Session Setup, those fields can be added to the import file as columns as well.
Note
Any speaker that is created must have a unique email and username.
A new, linked Attendee Registration can be created for any Speaker Profiles that were created, one by one, by mass action, or by turning on the option in the Speaker Portal Setup page.
How to Add Speakers to your Event
1. Navigate to Speaker & Sessions > Speakers.
2. Select Add New.
3. Fill out the Speaker Profile.
Any custom fields that were created appear at the very end of this pop up under the collapsed Custom Speaker Data box.
4. Select Save.
How to Import Speakers/ Speaker Updates
1. Navigate to Speaker & Sessions > Speakers.
2. Select Import.
Download either a template or existing speakers to have the correct import template.
3. Fill out the Speaker information.
At minimum, provide First Name, Last Name, Email, and Username.
(Making the email and username the same is suggested, so the values are always unique per speaker.)4. If changes are being made to existing Speakers, do not change the Username.
Changing the username creates a duplicate speaker instead of updating the current speaker profile.
5. Save the Excel spreadsheet as .xls, .xlsx, or .csv.
6. Navigate back to the Speakers page.
Click Import and Next.
7. Select the new Speaker File.
Map spreadsheet columns to the fields in Platform.
Select Import.
8. An email is sent once the import is complete.
Usually, refresh the page to see the new speaker list.
Creating Speaker Profiles using the Speaker Portal
If the Speaker portal is used, anyone who submits an abstract creates their own Speaker Profile.
Control is available over which fields the abstract submitter must submit along with their Name, Email, Username, and Password.
Existing Registrations creating linked Speaker Profiles
Existing Attendee Registration Profiles can log in to the Speaker Portal using their Profile Username and Password.
This login connects the Registration to the Speaker.
If personal information was already submitted, that information flows over to the Speaker Profile.
