Overview
Two options exist to help Registrants access password-protected Forms.
Option 1: Use Certain's "Forgot Password" Feature.
Option 2: Append "Reg ID for URL" to the Form Link.
Option 1: Use Certain's "Forgot Password" Feature
The Forgot Password feature adds a Forgot Password link to the Form page.
The Registrant is asked for their email address when the Forgot Password link is clicked.
The Forgot Password Email Template is sent with a link to the Form from which it was initiated.
The Registrant can set their password after following the link.
The text of the Forgot Password link on the Form page can be edited.
To proceed, include a normal link to the Form and direct the Registrant to click the Forgot Password link to set up their password.
Create and designate a Forgot Password email template in Promote > Email Templates > Registration > Add New.
In Email Template Details, check the box for Use as the template for Forgot Password.
Edit the Form's Entry area to Enable Forgot Password.
Save the changes.
Option 2: Append "Reg ID for URL" to the Form Link
Using this method, registrants will be automatically logged into the form.
Under Promote > Email Templates, create the link to the Event one of two ways:
- Append
&PkRegID=<{Reg ID For Url}>to the end of the Form link URL.
Example: https://app.certain.com/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x2603286abcd&PkRegID=<{Reg ID For Url}>
- Append Both the Form ID and Reg ID to the URL.
Example: https://app.certain.com/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID={<Form Id For Url: Buyer Phase 1}>&PkRegID=<{Reg ID For Url}>
With this option, the link will log the Registrant directly into the Form.
You may then include "Password" and "Confirm Password" on the Form under Registrant Details, allowing Registrants to set their password for future access.
