Printing Differences
Printed badge quality differs on Windows devices compared with iOS or Android because iOS and Android convert badges to PDF format when printing.
The PDF format has crisper lines and lettering.
Windows does not support printing PDF files from Apps, so the application must print an image version of the Badge.
Therefore, the printed badge may be of lower quality than when printing from iOS or Android.
Positioning
In some cases when printing from Windows devices, the printed badge may not appear properly centered.
The badge may get cut off.
The badge may be displayed differently between devices.
To address these issues, adjust Windows display settings and printer settings:
- Open Windows Display Settings by right-clicking the Desktop and selecting Display settings.
- Set the scale to 100% by using the "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" option.
- Go to Printers & Scanners, select the printer, choose Manage, and open Printing Preferences.
- Check the paper size and print quality settings for the printer.
- For Brother QL-1110NWB printers, set the paper size to 4 inches for 4-inch continuous paper when printing a 4x3 badge, and set the length to 3.00 inches.
- Sometimes setting the print quality to a higher level will cause small lines to appear faded or splotchy.
- Setting the print speed to prioritize speed may actually make the badge easier to read.
