Attendee Types (Attendee Form)
The Attendee Type section of the form enables the registrant to select their attendee type from a list. The Attendee Type section enables the registrant to view the type that was pre-assigned to their registration. By default, all attendee types in the event are listed in this section of the registration form.
> Note: An attendee can only have one attendee type for one event.
Note that if an attendee type has a name to Display for Reg Form (set up on Plan > Event Setup > Attendee Types ), that is what's shown on the Attendee Types section instead of the attendee type Name. This is the only form section on which Display for Reg Form is used. This Display for Reg Form name is not used on the Verify or Confirmation sections.
Section Header
A Section Header can be set on most of the pages that determine the appearance of the registration form. The header is typically used to display additional instructions or event information related to the particular section being configured. The text and HTML elements entered into the section header appear above the section elements themselves.
The instructions appear above the header bar. The instructions appear at the top of the section.
Header Text appears in the header bar in a contrast color. Page HTML appears directly below the header. Page HTML can include any information desired. Page HTML can include HTML tags.
If the fields in the Section Header area of the screen are left blank, the header is set to inactive for that section.
Attendee Type Display Settings
In this section, you can specify the following display settings.
Display attendee type list and require selection?
Select one of the following options.
- No
- The attendee type list is not shown.
- The system still processes the attendee type section.
- The system still performs any logic or assignment of activities specified by the event setup.
- Optional
- The list of attendee types is shown.
- The registrant does not have to select an attendee type.
- This setting is not recommended.
- This setting may be useful in certain rare cases.
- Require
- The list of attendee types is shown.
- The registrant must select one attendee type.
- The registrant must select an attendee type to proceed with their registration.
Display list if attendee type is pre-assigned?
This option determines how to display the attendee type option list if the registration was pre-assigned to an attendee type that is not in the displayed attendee type options. This scenario occurs when the registrant uses an attendee type passcode to enter the form. This scenario occurs when the registration was previously created by a planner (individually or during a bulk import). This scenario occurs when the attendee uses his or her registration code to access its information.
In this scenario:
- If Optional or Require is selected, the pre-assigned attendee type is shown at the top of the attendee type option list.
The registrant is allowed to change their attendee type.
- If No is selected, the attendee type list is not displayed at all.
The registrant is unable to change their attendee type.
One additional option exists. Read-Only is useful. Read-Only displays the label of the pre-assigned attendee type. Read-Only does not enable the registrant to modify their attendee type.
> Note: The option selected for Display list if attendee type is pre-assigned comes into effect only when the registration does already have an attendee type. > The effect applies regardless of whether the registration is Complete or Incomplete.
No attendee type error message
This is the error message displayed when an attendee type is required. This error message displays when the attendee has not selected one on the registration form.
Current attendee type
This is the label displayed before a pre-assigned attendee type that is set to 'read-only'. Default: " Current".
Default attendee type
This is the attendee type that will be selected if the registration does not have a pre-assigned attendee type when the form is first displayed.
Select the attendee types to display on this form
You can select items from the list of available attendee types for this event. You can order the displayed attendee types in any manner desired. Attendee Types available which have been previously configured in the event appear in the box on the left titled Available Types.
Using the arrow controls, you can select items in the left box and move them to the Types to Display box on the right.
The controls work as follows.
- Double arrow controls ( ->> and <<- ) move selected items to the left or right.
- Quadruple arrow controls ( ->> >> and << <<- ) move all items to the left or right.
- Top, Bottom, Up, and Down change the positioning of a field in the list of Attendee Types to Display.
- The order is the order in which the attendee types appear on the form.
Waitlist Options
Display before limit #
This setting displays a message if the attendee type has an inventory. This setting displays the message when the inventory limit has not yet been reached.
Example: if the attendee type has a limit of 100 registrations, and the display text is "Limit: ", the online form shows "Limit: 100" next to that attendee type.
> Tip: Leave this field blank if you do not wish to show the attendee type limit.
Display before # available
This setting works in the same manner as the Display before limit # setting. This setting shows the number of registrations remaining that can select an attendee type.
> Note: The limit and number remaining settings do nothing if the attendee type does not have a registration limit.
Display if over limit
This setting is the text message shown instead of a select option for any attendee type that has reached its inventory limit.
> Tip: Leave this field blank if you don't want full attendee types to be shown.
Give registrant a waitlist option for full attendee types
If you select the Give registrant a waitlist option for full attendee types check box, a radio button appears next to a sold-out attendee type on the form. This option enables the registrant to add themselves to the waitlist for that attendee type. Use the label field to display a label. Example: "Add me to the waitlist," appears next to the radio button on the registration form.
Fee Options
Display fee name?
If Yes, the name of the fee associated with the attendee type is displayed next to the attendee type name on the form.
Display fee amount?
If Yes, the fee associated with the attendee type is displayed next to the attendee type label on the form.
Currency Symbol
This symbol precedes any fee displayed in the attendee type section of the form. The drop-down list box displays the currency symbol for the type of currency selected in E-commerce Setup. Example currency symbols include "$" for USD and "€" for Euros.
There is a blank option if the Administrator chooses not to display a currency symbol.
Fee display format
This setting determines the format applied to the fee when the fee is displayed on the form. Once selected, all currency amounts show values in this format.
The selected currency format is displayed in:
- the attendee type list
- program sections
- the verify/edit page
- the financial payments page
- confirmation transaction detail
- email confirmations
"Complimentary" label for zero or no fee
This is a text message shown instead of a price. This text message appears next to attendee type options that have no associated fees. This text message also appears if the fee is zero.
> Tip: Leave this field blank if you do not want to display text next to no-fee or zero-fee options.
