To obtain a Google Analytics Tracking ID (such as "UA-12345678-1") to use in a Certain event, follow these instructions.

For a New Google Analytics Account

1. Go to www.google.com/analytics. 2. Click Sign Up. 3. The New Account page opens. 4. Under What would you like to track?, select Website. 5. Under Setting up your account: Enter an Account Name (for example My Company, or My Company Events). 6. Under Setting up your property: Enter a Website Name (for example, Sales Conference 2016). 7. Enter the Website URL. Enter the domain name portion of the URL you use to access Certain. 8. For Standard edition customers, the URL would be "www.certain.com". 9. For Enterprise edition customers, you would use the first part of the URL that you access Certain with, such as "registration.mycompany.com". 10. Select an Industry Category from the drop-down list. 11. Select a Reporting Time Zone by selecting country and time zone from the drop-down lists. 12. Select Data Sharing Options as appropriate. 13. Click Get Tracking ID. 14. You may be prompted to accept the Google Analytics terms of service before the Tracking ID is generated. 15. You are taken to the Google Analytics Administration page for the "property". 16. The Tracking ID is displayed in large bold print in the middle of the page. This is in the format "UA-12345678-1". 17. This Tracking ID is what you will enter into the Event, Form, or Event Website setup pages. 18. Record the Tracking ID. Copying it is a quick way to be able to paste it where necessary. 19. Note: Do not copy the long "tracking code", i.e. the snippet of JavaScript code which is several lines beginning "<script>" and ending "</script>". 20. Copy just the short Tracking ID, such as "UA-12345678-1".

For an existing Google Analytics account

1. Go to www.google.com/analytics. 2. Log in to your account. 3. Select Admin on the Google Analytics toolbar. 4. In the Property column, click an existing property to show the drop-down menu, and click Create new property. 5. The New Property page opens, with the same fields as described above. 6. Follow the same steps as above, from Step 7 onwards.
