If an email server filters out a message as spam, the message is quarantined.
The message does not reach its destination.
From address alignment and display names
One reason that spam filters block email addressed from an Application Service Provider (ASP) such as Certain is that the 'From' address is not using the same domain as the mail server.
For example, if the 'From' address is customized to eventplanner@example.com, the email still goes out with Certain's mail server's DNS host name (mail.certain.com) in the header.
To reduce the amount of email quarantined as spam, by default, all email is sent from our servers.
The 'From' address is event_information@certain.com and the display name is that of the Registration Contact.
The 'Reply-To' address is the Registration Contact as well.
From field display note for some clients
Note: Some email client software, most notably Lotus Notes, may display the event_information@certain.com address in the From field.
When the recipient clicks "Reply," the Registration Contact will show in the To field of the email.
Sending from a different FROM address
If you need to send emails with a different FROM address, contact Certain Support.
Certain Support can provide information on 3 DNS entries to add to the domain of the email address used as the From address.
After the necessary DNS entries are added, emails sent from that domain will pass DMARC, SPF, and DKIM checks.
Emails should not be quarantined or marked as Spam.
