Overview
Job Functions (at account-level) are created and edited for use in Speaker and Session Management.
Job Functions are for speakers and event planners to use as the target job functions for sessions.
For example, a session may be aimed at people who have Marketing or Finance roles.
In an event, event planners select the job functions to be available in that event; these job functions can be associated with sessions.
Add Job Function
To add a job function to the account, enter a new Job Function Name in the Name text box.
Click Add.
The new job function must be unique in the account.
The new job function is added to the Job Function List below.
Examples include "CMO" or "Chief Marketing Officer".
Import Job Functions
Import job functions from a CSV file that you have prepared in advance.
Format: The import file must be a CSV file.
Fields: The import file must include the one (required) field: Job Function Name.
Header Row: The first row must be column names. You will use these when mapping the fields.
Template: You can right-click this file to save an empty template CSV file, job_functions_import_template.csv.
Steps to follow to import job functions
1) Click Import Job Functions.
2) Click Browse and select the CSV file to upload from your computer.
3) Click Upload to upload it to the account.
4) In the Import Job functions pop-up window, map the Name field to the relevant column in your import file.
5) Click Import to start the import process.
6) A notification email is sent advising that the import is complete, and if any rows failed to import.
Note: If you import a job function with the same name as an existing record, the existing record is overwritten. That has no net effect; it does not generate an error, nor create a duplicate record.
Job Functions List
All job functions are listed, with these two columns: Job Function Name and Actions.
To change a job function name, click Edit in the Actions column.
Enter the new Job Function Name and click Save to apply changes.
You can click Cancel to discard unsaved changes.
Delete deletes the job function. You are prompted to confirm.
Warning: Deleting a job function removes its association from any sessions. You may confirm or cancel the deletion.
Actions
Two icons: Edit and Delete.
Edit changes the Job Function Name, and Save stores your changes.
Delete removes the job function after confirmation.
