Displaying Subtotals in Reports

Subtotals can be displayed on printable report formats. Subtotals can be displayed on Adobe PDF, Printable Excel, and Printable HTML. Subtotals appear underneath each column selected for display. Subtotals enable quick viewing of the sum, maximum, minimum, or average of numeric data for the selected data fields.

The subtotal page can also be used to turn on or off two options. The two options provide the total number of records per group.

This feature is useful for reports that group registrations by company. By selecting the option "Display number of records next to each group", you can tell how many attendees are coming to the event from each company.

You may also choose to "Display grand total number of records at the bottom of the report".

You can display subtotals for numeric-data columns. Examples include Total Payments and Balance Due for Registration reports.

Examples also include the number of attendees who selected a particular program item on a Registration Agenda report.

To show subtotals for a particular data field, select the check box for Sum. To show subtotals for a particular data field, select the check box for Maximum. To show subtotals for a particular data field, select the check box for Minimum. To show subtotals for a particular data field, select the check box for Average. You may select multiple check boxes.

Subtotals display in a row beneath each report grouping. Subtotals display at the bottom of the report if no groupings are designated.

> Note: Groups and Subtotals are ignored when running a with the “Return Changes Since” option.

If a report’s setup includes Groups or Subtotals, Subtotals are not included. Groups are treated as columns in the front of the record set. Groups are ignored in the results rendering. This behavior matches the behavior when a report with Groups or Subtotals is displayed in the Report Results window. This behavior occurs because these options are intended for exported report results.
