Threaded Messages

Messaging in the app is an easy and effective way to communicate information to individuals, groups, or everyone on the attendee list.

Group Messages

Group messages allow content managers to message an individual or a group of individuals.

Each group is represented with its own dedicated thread.

To start a new threaded group message, select the compose button from the top of the list.

To populate a group, select inside the recipient entry field and select from the drop down list.

Messages appear within the thread.

Anyone included in the group may respond.

Attendees see a list of all of their message threads.

The most recent message shows on the list.

The attendee selects the most recent message to view and reply to the thread.

Scheduled Messages

Scheduled Messages are used when targeting a particular segment of users.

Scheduled Messages are also used when delivering a message at a later time.

To navigate to the scheduled messages area, select “View Scheduled Messages” from the initial message threads view.

Fill in the subject and body of the message.

Additionally, check the box to send the message as a push notification.

Additionally, schedule a delivery time.

Additionally, restrict participants.

Send to All Participants

Use “Send to All Participants” to send a message to all event participants.

Broadcast messages are presented as a thread between the event and each participant in the list of threaded group messages.

Send to All Participants enables communication and answers participant questions.

Send to a Specific Participant

Use “Send to a Specific Participant” to schedule a message to a specific individual.

Send to Participants Matching Filters

Use “Send to Participants Matching Filters” to designate recipients by scheduled session, groups, and participant types.

Only one session may be selected per scheduled message.

When selecting multiple groups, the message is more inclusive.

If Group 1 and Group 2 are selected, people in either Group 1 OR Group 2 receive the message.

When selecting multiple participant types, the message is more inclusive.

If Participant Type 1 and Participant Type 2 are selected, people who have either Participant Type 1 OR Participant Type 2 designated receive the message.

When combining filter types (Session, Group, Participant Type), recipients are only those individuals who are both in the Session AND the Group(s).

Recipients are also only those individuals who are both in the Group(s) AND the Participant Type.

Once the message is crafted, selecting “Save” lets a review of delivery options happen.

Selecting “Save” adds the message to the queue for delivery at a later date when a delivery date is selected.

Selecting “Save” sends immediately when no delivery date is selected.

Scheduled Messages can be viewed and edited from the Scheduled Messages list.

Only drafts and messages that are queued for delivery may be edited.
