Live Polling with Touchpoint provides real-time feedback during sessions without requiring additional gear. It supports rating, multiple choice, yes/no, and open comment questions. Audience members can vote and pose questions. A web-based moderator console displays responses as they arrive, and the moderator can lock questions and display results to a projected screen and in the app.

Branding & Sponsorship images
- From the Pulse/Live Polls page in the CMS, select the Design tab to view and edit the Live Poll branding and sponsorship images.
- By default, a poll displays the app icon when there are no active questions.
- It is possible to set an explicit full page poll splash screen that replaces the app icon if chosen.
- There is an option to add a branded header image.
- The header image is displayed at the top of every poll question.
- For each header image, you can choose a background color to display behind the image.
- It is best to use images that are much wider than they are tall.
- The example header image is 750px wide by 100px tall.
- The taller the header image, the more the poll is pushed down on the screen.
- The full page splash image is displayed in the center of the screen when there are no active questions.
- Square images work best for the full page splash image.
- The example full page splash image is 820px wide by 820px tall.
Get Started
- Go to the VIP speaker portal URL address provided by the conference planner.
- It is recommended to set up questions using a computer browser.
- Enter the email address and password.
- If there is no password, click “create a password” and enter the email address to receive a password setup link.
- After logging in, a list of assigned sessions appears.
- To create a new poll, select a session and click “Create Live Poll.”
- This action creates a poll attached to the session and opens the poll moderator console.
- The moderator console allows entering questions ahead of time or on the fly during the presentation.
Automatic Playback
- For a hands-off approach, use the Auto-Manage controls at the bottom of the screen.
- Settings are accessible via the Settings option in the bottom footer.
- Active Duration controls how long a question remains open for responses.
- Lock Duration controls how long a question remains locked for attendees but not displaying results.
- Results Duration controls how long the results remain visible before the next question becomes active.
- When the play button is pressed from the Auto Manage footer, the Poll becomes active and begins playback from the selected question.
- The poll cycles through each question in order, making each question active, locked, and displaying results.
- The poll may be paused at any point, remaining in the current state of the active question.
- The poll and all questions may be ended by pressing the stop button.
Manual Control
- Practice by setting up the first question.
- Click New from the top of the left-hand question list.
- A question may be created as multiple choice (yes/no), rating, or open-ended.
- Create a question and save it.
- The created question appears on the screen to the right.
- To edit the question, click the Edit button at the bottom of the detail view.
- Click Active from the top of the view to display the question to attendees.
- Test by answering in the Participant View or by going to the agenda session and selecting Participate in Live Poll.
- Responses appear in the moderator view.
- If desired, click the New button to create an open-ended question.
- Create a few responses in the Participant View.
- With moderation enabled, click the checkmark to approve responses, the X to delete, and the bookmark icon to move responses to the top of the list.
- To change the displayed questions or responses, click the left-hand list and select Active.
- Great practice. Now the moderator is ready to poll the audience in real time.
Decide on Your Audience Display
- Attendees see questions and results in the app on their devices.
- To display questions and results on a large screen, open the Participant View of the poll in a web browser and project it onto a large screen.
- There are several display/moderation options:
- Use two computers: one for the Participant View projected to the screen and another to access the poll moderator console.
- Use one computer for the screen projection of the Participant View and a mobile device for the poll moderator console.
- Use one computer with “split screen projection” so part of the screen is shared to the large display with the Participant View and part is a non-displaying view of the poll moderator console.
- Ask an audio-visual specialist for assistance.
- It is also possible to embed the live poll questions and results in a PowerPoint presentation.
- A separate link can be used to learn how to embed.
- The poll moderator console remains the control point for managing the poll.
- If there is no large-screen display, a single device may be used to manage the poll via the poll moderator console.
- In that case, the questions and results still display on attendees’ devices.
