Tier: Add/Edit
Audience This article explains how to add a new Tier and how to edit an existing Tier in the Certain platform's event management workflow. It is intended for event organizers and reviewers using the Speakers and Sessions management module.
Definitions
- Tier is a defined group of reviewers within the event's review workflow.
- Review Reminder is an automatic email sent to a reviewer at a chosen frequency until the review is completed or the Due Date passes.
- Due Date is an optional date by which reviewers should complete their reviews.
- Email Template is a predefined email format used for notifications to reviewers.
- Reviewer is a person who evaluates sessions in the event.
Add Tier or Edit Tier
An Add Tier window opens when you click Add New on the Tiers page.
An Edit Tier window opens when you click edit in the list of tiers.
Tier Name
- Tier Name is required.
- Tier Name must be unique in the event.
- Example values: "Initial Review"; "Senior Team".
Due Date
- Due Date is optional.
- Due Date sets a target date for completing reviews.
- Note: This date is primarily for Review Reminders.
- Note: It does not automate actions.
- Note: It does not prevent lateness.
- You can select from the calendar or enter in mm/dd/yyyy format.
- The result will be available as a dynamic data field that you can add to a Reviewer Email Template.
Can see Reviews in Tier(s)
- Select the tiers (if any) from which reviewers in this tier can see the reviews.
- Example: If you have four tiers you might allow reviewers in the first tier to see no other reviews.
- Reviewers in the fourth tier can see reviews from the third tier or from earlier tiers.
Privileges
- Allow reviewers to see Speaker details. If selected, reviewers in this tier will be able to see a Speakers section with details of the Master Speakers for a paper: Name, Type, Organization, Email, and Bio.
- Allow reviewers to Edit sessions. If selected, reviewers in this tier can edit sessions.
- Allow reviewers to Approve/Reject sessions. If selected, reviewers in this tier can approve sessions or reject them.
- Sessions approved by reviewers in this tier skip reviews in subsequent tiers (if there are any) and are qualified for scheduling.
- Sessions rejected by reviewers in this tier also skip reviews in subsequent tiers (if there are any).
Emails
- Select the Email Templates to be used for notifications that will be generated automatically and sent to reviewers.
- Note: Default email templates are created automatically when you create the Speakers and Sessions Reviewer Portal.
- You can edit those or add new ones on Promote > Communication > Communication Reviewer Email Templates.
When Assigned
- The email to be sent to all reviewers in this tier when a session is assigned to it.
- Note: You can select "Do Not Send Email" instead of selecting a template.
- You might use this if, for example, all your reviewers review papers together in a single workshop.
Upon Review Completion
- The email to be sent to a reviewer when they complete their review of a session on this tier.
- Note: The following are available only when you select a Due Date.
Review Reminder
- The email to be sent automatically (at the frequency you select) to a reviewer until they have completed a review or the Due Date has passed.
- Note: Review reminders are not sent after the Due Date.
